Q: Are custom cabinets more expensive?

A: Generally speaking there is usually a little more cost involved. However the value that you get is priceless. The old saying," you get what you pay for", is really true when it comes to cabinets. Cabinetry is usually a focal point of a room. They are used every day, in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, etc. We believe that your investment should pay off for a life time not only 5-10 years. Here at Granville Creek we are able to design and manufacture custom cabinets that will add value and quality to your home for a price that is competitive. Price is certainly important, just keep in mind that the overall value that you get for your dollar is most important.

Q: What kind of woods do you use?

A: We use the wood of your choice. Our material usually comes from the Northwest and the Northeastern part of the country. This area provides better quality woods because of the climate conditions. The wood is stronger and has more consistent characteristics. We usually get our lumber in 15/16” and plane it to 13/16”, this allows imperfections to be removed and obtain a consistent thickness. The most common woods used today are Cherry, Hickory, Maple, Alder, and Oak. Some of the more exotic woods such as Walnut, Teak, and Honduran Mahogany are generally used for specialty pieces.

Q: I only need a small vanity. Is this something you are willing to do?

A: Absolutely! Because we are a custom shop we are not driven by mass production. Our overhead costs give us the freedom to accommodate any size job. We design and build Fireplace Mantles, Bookcases, Entertainment Centers, Beds and the list goes on.

Q: What is the average lead time?

A: Normally, our lead (or delivery) time runs an average of 6-8 weeks. During our busy periods this can increase. All lead times are based on availability of materials and size of the job. Usually the lead time starts once shop drawings are approved and a deposit is received.

Q:  Is there a warranty on the work?

A: Yes! Materials and workmanship are guaranteed for a period of for a period of 2 years from the date of installation.
